In general its an ok camera. Worth the price I think. However, it is slow to take a picture. Plus my CB350 does not turn on at certain times. It’s an off and on issue. I push the power button, and nothing happens. Funny thing is, I shake the camera, then push the power button and it works then. My wife says to return it. Any others have this issue?

I have been looking to buy a Digital Camera for the last several years. The problem always seemed to be that the Cameras I could afford/justify were usually too weak in what they offered. Poor picture quality, difficult to use, etc.

Well, finally finances and timing came together and I went shopping. I tried all of the 4+ MP cameras. While many were wonderful, they all came with many features that I knew I would never use. Not for lack of interest, but more that I KNOW I am an amature and the most important thing to me was to take GOOD pictures that I can share with friends and family.

Then came the Kodak DX7630. Incredibly easy to use, acessible buttons, menus and features, a huge LCD screen in the back and a whopping 6.1 Megapixels.

I have had this camera a few days and like most guys with a new toy really gave it a workout. I took pics in all kinds of environments, all kinds of light conditions and I am AMAZED by the quality. Using the night portrait mode I took pictures of my Mother-in-law’s outdoor garden with no ambient light beyond the moon. The pictures came out stunning, so much so that a friend of mine is using it as a background on his computer.

Other shots I took indoor and out were just as crisp, just as easy. One of my biggest problems is that I have what is called familial shaking, I simply can’t keep a camera perfectly still. I can’t tell you how many shots were ruined with my regular camera because of that. The Kodak seems to compensate just fine. More importantly, I get to see the pic immediately and if I have a problem, I delete it and shoot again.

this is my second camera /printer combo, it replaces my old olympus with the 1.3 megapixels.i like the compact size of both the camera and printer dock station. i would recommend going to the olympus website and reading the operating manuals before the camera arrives, it helped me greatly. the camera comes only with a 16mb memory card, so order at least a 256mb with the camera. i found that after reading the manuals the camera was very easy to use. the only possible detractor i see is the on/off switch, it appears to not be very sturdy. as for the printer dock station, again read the manual, very easy to figure out, after reading. the printing times is between 60-90 seconds and the quality is better than i expected. also, use the higher quality settings on the camera helps. as for practicality, if you go on vacation and take 200 pictures this is not very cost effective, go to the photo mart and have the pictures developed.but for spur of the moment and must have now pictures it is great, it also impresses you less than high tech friends. i would recommend this for starter to intermediate photo people, or those who want something easy and quick to use.*******UPDATE…now having taken this on a cruise and taking app 250 pics with it i can recommend a few more things. first, i got the 1gig card, but i find the camera takes longer to buffer the pictures on to the card, so i would recommend only getting the 512mb card. also it has excellent low light picture taking with no flash(yes, the shutter speed is slower)so a good brace job is in order, but much better color and depth of field. and if you leave it on for a period of time between shots it goes into stand-by mode(i thought it was broke). as for the printer, my previous review stands.

The mat paper prints extremely nicely, this glossy paper doesn’t print quite as well and it’s really thin (not much thicker than standard 20# paper, but glossy). I prefer a sturdier paper as this creases too easily when handling it (to trim photos). I think it’s worth spending a little more and getting a paper that is more like commercial processed photos.

Many reviews point for 40 prints and less..yes I confess that I was printing 40 or less if I use premium plus papers but not any more.

I bought 16 cartridge since I bought my HP A618 but the last cartridge printed 140 and still I can print photos (I got the warning of low ink in 100)

what I did is changed the setting in the HP Photosmart Essential 3.0 the software to use it to print your photos. these are the changes:

1- After you click at the Simple Print, make sure you choose the correct size not bigger or Full Page. (for me usually 15×10)

2- choose Printer Settings at the top right then confirm your paper size (if you use paper with tab, select it)

3- click at the Advanced printer Settings. then select your paper type (advanced or premium photo papers). select print quality, Best. I use the (best) printer quality because I didn’t notice any difference while using Maximum dpi and I think Maximum dpi only good when you print 5×7 but trust me, don’t ever use it. stick to (best). it consumes less ink than maximum and the output is amazing.

4- Click at the (Features Tab) at the top left. then at the bottom there is a very bad technology which is (photo fix), always put it OFF. this feature makes your ink finish earlier. Don’t use it ever.

before I use the new settings, I decided to buy Canon PIXMA mini320 but it was out of stock so I bought 2 cartridges to print 70 photos. but the first cartridge still usable.

soon I’ll use the second cartridge and I’ll try to update my review.

for now, use the settings above and I hope you get more printed photos of a single cartridge.Update 13-6-2008:

now I have used another 2 inks of this..one has printed 48 photos and the second printed 81 photos and still in use.

I got a tip from hp life chat support. they told me to buy the longest expiry date ink which means the ink expire date will last 1 year or 2. I bought an ink that will expire at aug-2009 which I’m still using it until now and another june-2008 which only printed 48.

Paper for 110 ink:
don’t ever use premium or premium plus HP papers. they will not dry as long as you live or even water-proof papers. they will consume more ink too. you have 2 other options. Canon paper plus glossy or high-glossy and HP advanced glossy. both are incredible. I got stunning photos when I used them and longer life ink.

Photo quality settings:
if you edit your photos in the PC, don’t forget to set the resolution of the photo at 600dpi or 300dpi. to know more about the resolution search the net for (PPI & DPI). once you understand them you will know that you didn’t ever get a perfect photo. now when I compare the best photo before this method and after, I realized that I was a stupid who wasted money on papers like premium and lost quality of 400 photos I printed by not setting the resolution of the photo which is the same as the printer.

If you still interested in buying this ink, follow these steps above specially the expiry date of the ink and using HP advanced or canon plus paper. and before you buy new printer like Canon, try doing my way and buy oe last ink before spending money on new printer.

one last thing. don’t print photos from sd card. use a software like adobe lightroom to set the exposure, light, the black level, remove noisea and colors.

I bought this produce to carry both my Selphy printer and my Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS to classes I teach where I take I.D. photos of students.The front pocket is a perfect size for the camera and charger with a zipper pocket on the inside for items like extra memory cards.It also has two internal mesh pockets for similar items.The main compartment holds the printer andpaper tray quite nicely.I separate the two with the removable/adjustable center divider.And, while there is also just room for the power cord and connecting cord for the camera, there could be just a tad more height to accommodate the transformer on the power cord.It does fit, but does stick up a bit high.The entire case does have padding to protect the equipment from gentle bumps, but I would not depend upon it from protecting against major hits.For something like that, you will need a hard shell case.I am particularly pleased with the radial style zipper for both the main compartment and the accessory pocket,They make opening, loading and closing easy.The pull tags are rubberized which is also a nice touch.The unit has both a detachable shoulder strap and a hand carry strap on the top.One can easily disconnect the shoulder strap if it is not needed.Finally, the price was just too good to pass up.I would have easily given this 5 stars but for the tight fit of the power cord/transformer and the thin outer padding.But for my purposes, either putting it in a larger brief case or simply putting it in the trunk of my car, this unit can’t be beat.

I spent about a week researching for just the right multi-function printer for my needs. I own a small business with about 30 employees so I needed more than an inkjet but didn’t require a ‘corporate’ $1000+ version either.I needed fax, scan, copy, and print capability with laser printing and built-in wireless capability.Suprisingly, there are not that many printers on the market that can give you all of these in one package.Originally I was going to purchase the Brother’s MFC-8870 for around $500 which all the reviews on the internet recommend, but I found this while browsing around and realized that it had just come out a few weeks ago.Although there were no reviews out yet for this new printer, it was considerably less expensive than the 8870 and the only thing I seemed to be losing was auto-duplexing so I made the purchase.It took about 15 minutes total for me to set up an ad-hoc wireless printer setup and everything works great.The scans are nice, the printing is very crisp and clear even in very small fonts.The only thing I haven’t tried yet is the fax which I won’t be using much. I really can’t say anything bad about this product.Sure it would be nice to have a legal-size flatbed, auto-duplex, and 64mb memory (instead of the default 32mb) but for the money this can’t be beat.Overall, this seems to be a really great product at a great price.I highly recommend this if you need a 4-in-1 with wireless capability.Definitely the best on the market for this niche.

I wouldlike to first off that I have never owned a mini picture printing station so this is a bit new to me. My wife thought it would be really nice to be able to print off pictures of her cakes done after she finishes them so I decided to get this unit.
The Sony is probably one of the most expensive models but none that I have seen look as good or serve as a picture frame like the Sony so as far as I can tell it is a market of its own.
The setup was very easy to do Plug and Play really. I never even had to crack open the manual. This is for me since I really don’t like reading long boaring manuals.
I plugged in my SD card loaded with pictures and WOW the pictures are very very nice and vibrant!! Not bad at all. I have a couple of stand alone picture frames and this one blows them away for viewing quality.
I was printing pictures out and viewing them in no time at all. The quality of the prints are as good if not maybe better than your local 1hr lab.
I also liked that you can program when to have the picture viewer turn on and off with the timer function. And if for some reason you did not have enough clocks in your house the screen can serve as that function too.
My only concern is the cost factor. The Sony is from what I have seen the most expensive per print out there. This is comparing to Kodak, Hp, and Epson.

PROS: Very well built unit that also serves as picture viewer or clock when not using to print pictures.
The ability to use the provided stand rod to position the unit to view pictures with it sitting vertical or horizontal.
The Sony auto automaticlly rotates the pictures as needed.
Picture viewing quality is best I have seen from a picture frame.
The printed pictures are very true and nice quality.
The included remote is very well laid out and works well for me.

CONS: The Sony is expensive to purchase and continue to use.
The glossy finish gets finger prints very easily. But all new high devices do now days so you just need to get use to
it.
I really like it and my wife loves it.

Conclusion. If cost is not your major factor then this is for you. The quality is second to none.
